What is the presenter’s purpose?: It's an interview so he's answering the questions he's asked, but he's giving people information about ASL poetry. 

What is the presenter’s attitude toward the topic?: (emotive, excited, lethargic…) He is passionate about this topic because it's his life's work.  He wants to encourage others to pursue their dreams and not give up even though there may be roadblocks. 

What was the presenter’s language quality? (clear, redundant, evasive, tangents…) His language was clear.

How was the audio/visual quality? The video/audio quality was good. 

How did the presenter structure the presentation? It was question and answer style.  

Did the source text use any culturally bound information or topic-specific jargon?  The sign for ASL poetry is different than spoken poetry so that was culturally bound.  

Brief notes:  I felt like this went pretty well.  There was one part I struggled with, but I tried to Gish Up and try to get the gist of what he was saying instead of every detail.

What is the presenter’s purpose?: He's sharing a story about his bad experience with tech support. 

What is the presenter’s attitude toward the topic?: (emotive, excited, lethargic…) He's pissed off these people can't help him and that all his technology is screwed up. 

What was the presenter’s language quality? (clear, redundant, evasive, tangents…) His language was clear and he had a good pace. 

How was the audio/visual quality? The video/audio quality was good. 

How did the presenter structure the presentation? He told a story about his experience. 

Did the source text use any culturally bound information or topic-specific jargon?  Topic specific jargon: reboot

Brief notes:  I think I did pretty good with that, but there was one point I didn't understand (I think toward the end.) I think I matched his emotions of being fed up and used a good tone to match his frustration at the tech support people/the situation.

What is the presenter’s purpose?: He's telling stories that use lots of curse words. 

What is the presenter’s attitude toward the topic?: (emotive, excited, lethargic…)In the beginning you see him laughing so he's obviously a little uncomfortable.  He tells funny stories though so he's having fun with it. 

What was the presenter’s language quality? (clear, redundant, evasive, tangents…) His language is clear. 

How was the audio/visual quality? The video/audio quality was good, but the actual video in GoReact was a little small/narrow so some of his signs were hard to see.  

How did the presenter structure the presentation? He set it up like a story. First he talked about his HS experience, then college, then fighting with his wife. 

Did the source text use any culturally bound information or topic-specific jargon? The swear words were topic-specific I guess.  The signs for offensive and defensive related to sports specifically. 

Brief notes: I needed to have a little more lag time so I got his message before. I think I didn't do very well on my goal of speaking and then not missing the next thought.  I think I got most of what he said, but sometimes I felt like I missed something.

What is the presenter’s purpose?: She is entertaining the audience. 

What is the presenter’s attitude toward the topic?: (emotive, excited, lethargic…) 

What was the presenter’s language quality? (clear, redundant, evasive, tangents…) Her language quality is clear. 

How was the audio/visual quality? The video/audio quality was good. 

How did the presenter structure the presentation? She tells short stories to entertain or uses people in the audience and makes fun of them. 

Did the source text use any culturally bound information or topic-specific jargon?  It has a lot of culturally bound information like what all the groups are called and the stereotypes that go with those groups. 

Brief notes: I don't think I really got her messages across very clearly, but I think I matched her attitude.

What is the presenter’s purpose?: They're telling the audience to live life to the fullest and let all your experience add up to something you're proud of.  At the end of life you want to look back and feel like you really experienced life to the fullest. 

What is the presenter’s attitude toward the topic?: (emotive, excited, lethargic…)  Music is very emotive.  It was definitely good to prepare for a few minutes because I got the meaning of the song more and could interpret the emotion behind his words. 

What was the presenter’s language quality? (clear, redundant, evasive, tangents…) The song repeated itself so I tried to incorporate some of the same signs so that it was like a pattern.  His language was clear.  We definitely had to think about the meaning so I was thankful for the few minutes prior to actually interpreting so I could understand what the song was about. 

How was the audio/visual quality? The video/audio quality was good. 

How did the presenter structure the presentation? It was a song so it had a chorus which repeated.  He started at the beginning experiencing life and went to the end saying he hopes your happy when your final days come ("when the sun goes down") and feel like you truly experienced life. 

Did the source text use any culturally bound information or topic-specific jargon?  The whole song was topic-specific jargon because we really had to delve into what he meant versus what he actually said. 

Brief notes:  I was kind of nervous to interpret a song, but that was actually awesome! I felt really connected to his words and was surprised that I loved this experience.

What is the presenter’s purpose?: Share how to become self confident and how to interact with other people to achieve and influence their confidence. 

What is the presenter’s attitude toward the topic?: (emotive, excited, lethargic…) He was very emotive.  You could tell he felt a personal interest in his topic and really believed in what he was saying. 

What was the presenter’s language quality? (clear, redundant, evasive, tangents…) His language was clear and he spoke at a pretty good pace. 

How was the audio/visual quality? The video/audio quality was good. 

How did the presenter structure the presentation? He set it up like a story. 

Did the source text use any culturally bound information or topic-specific jargon?  Some of soccer terminology or the cost of tuition for college was culturally bound.

Brief notes:  I feel like I tried to get his concepts more than just the words.  I also tried to incorporate more role shifting and taking on characters.  Sometimes it felt good, others, not so much.

What is the presenter’s purpose?: Adjust people's thinking and share knowledge about how to work with children with Autism. 

What is the presenter’s attitude toward the topic?: (emotive, excited, lethargic…) She is very emotive and passionate about the topic.  She has a lot of experience having gone through the struggles as a person with Autism and she wants to share her knowledge in order to help other children experiencing the same struggles. 

What was the presenter’s language quality? (clear, redundant, evasive, tangents…) She spoke clear, but very quickly and she has a strong accent. 

How was the audio/visual quality? The audio/visual quality was good. 

How did the presenter structure the presentation? She used personal experience to share her opinions and demonstrate solutions to the audience.  She used pictures to emphasize her points to show her designs that she discussed. 

Did the source text use any culturally bound information or topic-specific jargon?  Autism, Aspergers are both topic-specific jargon

Brief notes:  She went very fast and I feel like I left a lot of information out.  She had a lot of good examples that I tried to summarize.  I think I did well in most parts listening and getting the idea instead of just spitting out every word she said because then I never could have kept up with her!
